Does RAM integrate with Hand Held computers?

Yes – RAM is fully integrated with NORAND Route Computers. For both route sell and pre-sell routes.

What kind of computer hardware do I need for RAM Software?

RAM runs on almost any Intel PC hardware, networks and printers. RAM will have specific recommendations and requirements based on your specific needs and will supply a configuration and quotations.

What operating system does RAM require?

RAM operates on SCO UNIX on the host computer, which offers the user the ability to run RAM from a Windows PC, Windows, NT & Novell Networks as well as serial terminals.

Can I use my existing printers?

In most cases, yes. RAM customer's print to almost any variety of dot matrix or line printers for multi-part forms printing and many customers also print to laser and inkjet printers for non-form print jobs.

What about networking?

Absolutely! RAM operates on a variety of networks enabling such features as file and print sharing, export functions and web connectivity, to name a few.

How many workstations can RAM support?

As many users as you wish to license. RAM is designed on the principal of you can't outgrow the system.

Software Functionality

Does RAM Software allow multiple sessions per user?

Yes, RAM is a multi-functioning, multi-user system. Each user (workstation/PC) can have multiple processes running in RAM at the same time as other users have their RAM processes running. You receive increased productivity per user and you don't ever have to back out of a posting or processes to use other features or perform other functions.

Can we be on the Internet?

Yes. You can connect to the Internet from any PC workstation whether it is networked or not. All you need is your Internet software provider and a modem.

Is RAM user friendly – I don't know a lot about computers?

RAM is designed for all levels of expertise. RAM is menu driven, so you don't need to know any commands or computer language.

How large of a customer database will RAM support?

Currently, RAM's customer file can support up to an 8-digit number, which translates to over 99 million.

Can I manage multiple plants or companies?

Yes. RAM is designed to handle multiple companies or multiple plants, up to 99 each.

Accounting

What kind of statement, delivery ticket and invoice forms are available?

RAM can customize forms to your specifications or you may choose some of our standard forms.

Do I have to know bookkeeping to run RAM?

No. RAM's integrated software does the work for you.

I have a general ledger and accounts payable package I want to keep. Do I have to switch?

No. RAM offers these applications as an option. If you have general accounting applications you wish to continue using, you don't have to give them up.

Cost & Support

Can RAM convert my existing data?

Yes. RAM will convert all or part of your existing data. You choose the files you want converted and RAM will program the data conversion. Customarily the customer, accounts receivables, product, equipment and history files are normally chosen.

What kind of training, support & documentation does RAM offer?

RAM provides on-site installation and training as well as phone/modem support and full documentation. 10 hours of support is provided at no charge. After 10 hours, support is billed in one-minute increments.

How much does RAM cost?

The base price of Ram Software system is $10,000.00, depending on the number of your company's concurrent users (PC workstations, if networked). Finance - Ram Systems can also arrange many different finance and lease options to fit your needs.

Does RAM provide updates to the software?

Yes. RAM provides ongoing updates on average, twice a year.

What about ongoing fees, maintenance costs?

RAM software has an annual license fee of 10% of the initial price. Support charges are billed in minute increments. There are no monthly maintenance fees.

Will RAM customize programs?

RAM will be happy to customize programs, reports or forms to your specifications.
